Freya Lily is a musician and singer originally from the Devonshire countryside, now based in London. She grew up devouring everything from classical Chopin to Billie Holliday. She'd been studying classical piano and composing for years – but with bad stage fright, never had the courage to play her work to others. It wasn’t until a chance encounter at a party, that things changed; with her inhibitions lowered, she discovered an upright piano in a side room, and crept in to test out some recent compositions. After playing, she turned round to discover the rest of the house party now in the room: it was an impromptu first outing for her music, and the response was overwhelming.

Today, influences include Yann Tiersen, Nils Frahm and Agnes Obel. Comparisons have been drawn between Freya Lily and the early work of Max Richter and Ludovico Einaudi, with the emotion flowing through her fingertips tangible for listeners.
